Dune is a 1965 science fiction novel by American writer Frank Herbert. It was originally published in two separate series in Simulation magazine. He was associated with the It’s Immortality Award for the 1966 film by Hugo Roger Zelazny and won the first Nebula Award for Best Novel. The novel begins with the visit of the Duke’s 15-year-old son Paul Atreides and his concubine Jessica (Bene Gesserit) Bene Gesserit. He passes the exam and learns that he may be Kwisatz Haderach, a person with Bene Gesserit abilities who can access the memories of his ancestors.
